Emotional Resilience: Service #Week3Day3

 Hello Friends!

Have you ever had those days where you don't feel like you have given any service? That's how I felt yesterday.

There are some things that I did, but it's something I do often. So it doesn't seem to count. Things like picking up my grandkids from daycare, fixing or helping with dinner preparations and/or cleanup, helping choose hymns for the songs we will sing (and I will play) at church, practicing those songs.

I also got together with one of my daughters and we painted our toenails, watched a movie and worked on a puzzle. I'm not sure if that was service, but we had fun and it was good spending time with her.

Are there things in your day that you do all the time that you don't consider service?

I think when we really take a good look into our lives we are doing more service than we realize.

What are some of the small and simple ways that you are serving?

Here's a great article giving 5 ways on how to serve well so that we actually bless and uplift those that we serve. What a great way to check our hearts when we serve so that we don't serve with a 'better than' mentality, but with a 'we are all children of God' mentality.

  1. I appreciate this post, because like you, I rarely feel like I am giving service, but you helped me realize that I serve for much of each day. I made an extra effort today. As I listened to my mom tell me the stories that I have heard hundreds of times, I tried to extra hard to act interested. ':D
